What is JetNet? JetNet is a super-speed Internet access product. It uses a technology called DSL (Digital Subscriber Line). Unlike cable modems, DSL is not a bus technology, so the bandwidth available to the end user is more consistent and secure. How is JetNet different from the Dial-Up we already offer for $24.50 a month? *You connect up to 20 to 50 times faster than when you use regular "dial-up" services. Connection speeds with dial-up modems are 28.8K to 56K. DSL's connection speed is 128k or higher. You can upload and download large web sites or data files in seconds rather than minutes. -You're "always on" No dial-up. No busy signals. Just click the icon and you're on. You don't get bumped off when your on-line activity lapses. -You don't need to pay for an additional telephone line. You can still use your telephone or fax machine at the same time you're on the Internet. Who needs JetNet? -Anyone who wants their Internet to go faster. DSL is great for: -Multimedia, multi-player games -Shopping -Streaming real audio and video (music, books, pictures, cartoons, videos) -Downloading files -Research -Chat and News groups -DSL makes everything you do on the Internet easier, quicker and more fun. Who can get JetNet? -JetNet is available only in certain parts of ComSouth's sevice area. (Speed can only be quaranteed within a certain distance from our main switches.)
